Voted one of the top 50 places to stay by The Telegraph.

The Guardian newspaper said "Great for solo travellers and dinner's such fun", while The Observer liked the "plush furnishings and super-swish bathrooms". Shakespeare House was also praised by Conde Nast Traveler Magazine.

Shakespeare House has been quoted by James Garner of The Hearst Media Corporation in the following glowing terms: "As we went from beautifully designed room to room, Nick explained that he and his business partner are interior designers... and doesn't it show! The rooms are tastefully flamboyant. They have obviously looked at the property as a blank canvas. The mixture of old and new decor could have so gone wrong... But it works. The dining room with white furniture and a cow hide on the floor oozes minimalism, but the open brick fireplace is from another age."

"I know a bank where the wild thyme blows, Where Oxslips and the nodding Violet grows, Quite over-canopied with luscious woodbine, With sweet musk-roses, and with eglantine."
